Kennedy Trust Senior Research Fellows Audrey Gérard and Jelena Bezbradica Mirkovic, both based at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, have been awarded the title of Associate Professor in recognition of their excellence in research and teaching.

Audrey is currently exploring the dynamics of T cell immune responses, most recently looking at whether T cell response to infection and tumours is coordinated by cellular communication between cells and the ecosystem in which they reside.

Jelena’s focus is on the mechanisms that control the initiation of inflammatory responses. Uncovering these pathways, and those that deactivate inflammatory signalling, will unveil new targets for the design of therapies against chronic inflammatory diseases.
